Purpose of Position: The Large Group Junior Sales Consultant will work closely with the Sales Team statewide to increase Large Group Sales. This role is based in California and will require travel across California and Nevada to ensuring successful large group sales . The consultant will contribute to sales strategies, c presentations, and relationship management while supporting the overall growth of the Large Group footprint.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare Monthly Reports: Compile and present monthly Large Group Reports for the Leadership and Sales teams, including metrics like sold cases, RFPs, close ratios, and year-to-date trends. Be ready to present these reports to the manager.
- Focus on Sales Growth: Develop forward-thinking strategies and to drive increased large group sales.
- Proposal and Spreadsheet Preparation: Prepare, audit, and present proposals and comparison spreadsheets. Work with the Large Group Consultant to recommend the best options based on clients' unique needs.
- Analyze Market Trends: Monitor trends, carrier updates, and network changes to inform sales strategies.
- Train Internal Staff: Contribute to training statewide staff on market updates and trends to enhance team knowledge.
- Sales Support: Provide updated guides, requirements, and assist with quoting strategies to the Sales team.
- Support Implementation and Enrollment: Assist with the implementation and enrollment processes, ensuring smooth transitions and accurate data entry for large group clients.
- Rate Negotiation and Inquiry Resolution: Assist with rate negotiations by supporting the Sales team in discussing pricing options. Address and resolve any inquiries related to rates, coverage, or other terms to ensure successful sales outcomes.
- Other Tasks: Perform additional business tasks or functions as assigned.
- Attendance: Ensure regular, on-site or remote attendance and punctuality, as it is essential to the role.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Computer literate; proficiency in Excel is a must
- Prior health insurance knowledge
- Excellent customer service, including verbal and telephone skills.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills, with experience preparing and presenting detailed sales reports.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on long-term sales growth and strategic thinking.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze trends and identify opportunities for growth.
- Experience in sales, insurance, or a related field preferred.
- Computer literate; proficiency in Excel is a must

- Must have active California Life & Health Insurance Producer license
- Must have 2-3 years large group industry/sales experience
- Salesforce knowledge preferred
- Adhere to all PHI (Protected Health Information) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma required.
- College preferred
- 2-3 years minimum of industry experience.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and occasional standing and walking. Must have adequate hearing for phone work. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Must be able to use a keyboard and other office equipment. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
