POSITION TITLE
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
Reports to: Chief of Staff & Board of Directors
JOB SUMMARY
The Word Church Director of Finance is a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who works with the Senior Pastor and Board of Directors in stewarding the resources God has provided for The Word Church. The Director of Finance is a person of integrity who will direct all the accounting and finance transactions, while providing budgeting and guidelines for the ministry and staff. This role is responsible for keeping the entire ministry accountable in maintaining the financial health of the Word Church. The Director of Finance duties are broad, but include the items listed below
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Internal Controls
- Tax and Business Compliance & Legalities
- Preparing Forecast and Budgets
- Contact merchants and banks regarding account fees, discrepancies, overdrafts
- Review and Negotiate contracts
- Oversee Audit procedures and discrepancies
- Update chart of Accounts
- Oversee online giving
- Oversee Business Office, Count team and Data Entry team
- Work with leadership to develop health and safety policies and procedures
- Oversee operation of buildings
- Handle Vehicle and Equipment purchases
- Develop Business Partnerships that support Initiatives
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of professional Business and Accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
- Experience with MS Office and relevant computer software (knowledge of ACS is a plus)
- Must be a Servant Leader, balancing expertise with humility
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational, analytical and management capabilities
- Able to multi-task and delegate as needed
- Superior attention to detail
