Summary :
Workforce Group (WFG) is seeking experienced Building Plan Examiners to review building plans associated with Hurricane Helene's and Milton's rebuilding activity. Requires Certification as a Building Plans Examiner as issued by the State of Florida through the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board. In this role, you will review technical documents for compliance with Florida building codes and standards. Plan Examiners will collaborate with contractors and other officials to streamline the approval process, helping to ensure efficient rebuilding after the hurricane.
Location : Florida
Responsibilities :
- Evaluate plans and specifications for conformance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Ensure designs comply with the Florida Building Code, FEMA guidelines, and zoning regulations.
- Identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrections.
- Communicate findings with contractors and coordinate with permitting departments.
- Assist with expedited reviews for emergency repairs.
- Assists permitting staff, design professionals, contractors, and community with code and compliance information, via phone, in person, counter service, and email.
- Inputs plan review notes in computer.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Florida Standard Plans Examiner License required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience with structural, electrical, or mechanical reviews.; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Prior experience in disaster recovery is preferred.
