Summary:
Workforce Group (WFG) is seeking a dependable and mission-driven Deputy Program Manager to support potential emergency operations in Frankfort, KY. This rapid-response position will assist with the coordination and delivery of Individual Assistance (IA) programs and recovery services, working in partnership with FEMA, state, and local agencies. The selected candidate will help manage program operations such as housing assistance, disaster case management, and sheltering support, and may step into a larger leadership role as the mission evolves.
Location: Frankfort, KY
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and execution of Individual Assistance (IA) programs in coordination with state and federal partners.
- Assist with the implementation of services including: Housing Assistance, Disaster Case Management, Crisis Counseling, and Legal Services.
- Participate in coordination meetings with FEMA and other emergency management partners.
- Contribute to Joint Preliminary Damage Assessments (JPDAs) and assist with eligibility documentation under the Stafford Act.
- Help develop and update program documentation, SOPs, and guidance materials.
- Provide logistical and technical support to local officials, nonprofit partners, and community stakeholders.
- Assist in tracking program data, timelines, and deliverables to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting in line with federal and state regulations.
- Support sheltering and National Call Center (NCS) activities as assigned.
- Carry out other responsibilities as delegated by senior leadership.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: At least three (3) years of experience in emergency management, disaster recovery, or related program coordination. Familiarity with FEMA Individual Assistance programs and emergency recovery policies. Experience supporting EOCs or disaster response teams preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and emergency management platforms (e.g., WebEOC, EMGrantsPro).
- Ability to deploy rapidly, travel within the state as needed, occasionally out-of-state and work extended hours including weekends.
- FEMA badge or clearance preferred; must be eligible to work in the U.S.
