Job Title: Residential Inspector
Summary:
The Workforce Group is seeking a Residential Inspector to conduct thorough inspections of one and two-family dwelling properties, ensuring compliance with state building codes, safety regulations, and construction standards. This role involves conducting detailed inspections, managing compliance requirements, and effectively communicating findings with property owners and contractors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough inspections of residential properties to assess and ensure compliance with relevant building codes and safety regulations.
- Evaluate structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to confirm adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Provide clear documentation and reporting of inspection findings, highlighting code violations or compliance concerns.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding inspection results and necessary corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and organized records, reports, and documentation.
- Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for code-related questions and regulatory guidance.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with documentation standards, regulatory codes, and applicable laws.
- Conduct periodic reviews and audits of inspection documentation.
- Attend team meetings and provide updates on inspection progress and regulatory changes.
- Support ongoing training initiatives for code updates and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Required Certification: Must meet one of the following eligibility criteria: Five years of supervisory experience as a certified contractor, five years of experience as a job superintendent or project manager, hands-on experience totaling five years, standard certification as an inspector, postsecondary education and experience in construction, or completion of a 500-hour inspector training program.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and residential construction standards.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and inspection-related software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspections.
- Detail-oriented approach to identifying compliance issues and completing accurate reports.
