What are the responsibilities and job description for the A/R and A/P Manager position at TheASPTeam?
Our client is a mid-sized, owner-run service provider seeking an Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Manager. This person will report to the VP of Finance and manage the work of a small team as they oversee both the payables and receivables processes. This is a high-volume environment that is in good standing but needs someone who will take ownership over the delivery of a very high level of service to customers and vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Review Account Receivable bi-weekly, and work with the team to make sure collections are current and that discrepancies are handled in a timely manner.
- Own order approvals and customer credit reviews (including new credit applications)
- Reconcile all large customer accounts monthly as well as customer deposits.
- Review Account Payable weekly, and work with the team to make sure all invoices are correctly entered into our ERP system and paid on time.
- Process weekly AP payments, and daily prepayments.
- Work with each of the sales teams to make sure all non-COGS costs are added to projects.
- Prepare and submit annual 1099s.
- Reconcile credit card statements to the GL.
- Assist in new initiatives to streamline processes in the ERP system.
- Conduct month end closing tasks (royalty reporting, rent billings)
- Assist in preparing sales reports for the sales teams)
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of both the payables and receivables processes demonstrated through at least 5 years of working experience in each or combined.
- Previous Accounting experience in a small to mid-sized company required
- College degree in accounting field (AA or Bachelor’s degree) preferred, or relevant experience in job duties.
- Ability to work independently and make suggestions and decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, self-driven, good time manager, motivated with positive attitude
- Detail oriented with good analytical skills
Compensation:
Base salary of up to $90k will be considered for the right candidate. Full suite of medical/dental/vision benefits as well as a 401k plan and generous time off benefits.
