Our client is a national specialty building supply manufacturer and retailer. In business for 40 years and privately held, they sell products through retail channels around the world. The company employs 75 employees in 11 locations across the United States and generates sales $25 million in revenue. The Company has a long history of profitability and stability.
Position Summary:
The Director of Finance will be primarily responsible for all financial duties for 3 related entities, including supervising work within the 3-person accounting/HR department and multiple hands-on financial & reporting duties. Integrity, dependability, and productivity are essential for this busy role.
Accounting Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate month-end close for all entities. Reconcile accounts, prepare financials and consolidation.
- Manufactured inventory - Adjust standard costs, monitor prices and margins, supervise physical counts.
- Monitor results and champion an overall profit margin focus mentality in all store branches.
- Responsible for and assist CEO with risk management, benefit plan administration and annual renewals.
- Publish a wide variety of sales reports to assist management team and sales department.
- Assist CEO and Board with many special projects requiring complex pro-forma ad hoc reports.
- Assist Accounting Manager with daily banking, treasury management and company credit cards.
- Maintain professional relationships with bankers, insurers, attorneys, outside CPAs.
- Prepare tax data and monitor all Federal and state income tax filings with outside CPAs.
- Assist IT department with MS Dynamics NAV and Business Central ERP upgrade.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA certification required.
- Prior experience in a multi-location manufacturing and sales environment strongly preferred.
- Accounting skills – Manufactured inventory costing; multi-entity branch and departmental reporting; forecast and modeling skills to help with potential M&A activity; no external debt or compliance reporting at this time
- Tax skills – Experience with multi-state apportionment and pass through taxes; IC-DISC calculations.
- VDA skills – Experience with state sales taxes and the voluntary disclosure agreements.
- Familiarity with MS Dynamics Nav/BC and ERP and upgrade projects.
Compensation:
- Expect starting base salary to range between $175k - $240k DOE.
