Job Summary:

Do you have a passion for serving the community of the Harrisburg PA Capital Region? If so, Theatre Harrisburg is looking for you! Theatre Harrisburg is seeking a full-time Production Manager as the Theatre approaches it 100th anniversary.

Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Research, read and prepare a list of possible show considerations for each season. Research and read suggestions made by members of the community, Board, or staff, as part of a group review process in preparing a final proposal to the Board of Directors for the upcoming production season.
  • Secure show royalties following production season approval by the Board of Directors.
  • Attend auditions in support of the production.
  • Hire and manage theatrical directors, music directors, choreographers, and stage manager positions and, after approval by Executive Director, secure contracts.
  • Assist Musical Director and pit contractor.
  • Contribute to the development of production budgets.
  • Secure production budgets from Executive Director and manage expenses related to royalties/licensing, contractors, and all other items within the Production Manager’s purview.
  • Oversee creation and implementation of season performance schedule.
  • Organize audition and rehearsal schedules in collaboration with creative and production teams.
  • Develop production schedule and implement/manage production schedule with directors, technical and production crew, designers, staff, and volunteers.
  • Schedule and oversee production meetings with all production staff/volunteers, as needed.
  • Act as liaison between directors, theater staff, technicians, and production volunteers.
  • Coordinate scheduling and use of the Krevsky Production Center.
  • Secure additional rehearsal space for productions when Krevsky Center is unavailable.
  • Coordinate scheduling and use of Whitaker Center, as it pertains to TH productions.
  • Clearly communicate with all team members on the status of shows and ensuring production needs and schedules are met.

Qualifications:

  • At minimum, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 5 years of experience in the performing arts industry.
  • Ability to work both independently and within an interdependent, team-oriented environment.
  • High-level analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and focused attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
  • Ability to complete complex administrative tasks with minimal supervision.

Compensation:

$18/hr full-time exempt (with benefits)

Work Hours:

In addition to regular office hours (Monday-Friday 9 AM – 5 PM), weekend and evening hours are required for performances, rehearsals and special events. Ability to work remotely on Mondays and flex office hours as needed for performances, rehearsals and special events.
