What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing position at ThedaCare?
The Director of Nursing is responsible for achieving goals and objectives related to nursing service, patient experience, team member experience, quality care, clinical strategy, financial growth, and financial stewardship for TCN in alignment with the Vice President of Nursing Regional Medical Centers.
Assures that patients, nurses, and all clinical staff are in an environment that demonstrates the lifeInspired movement.
Establishes a vision for the future direction of nursing services in partnership with the system CNO and insures collaboration with their physician and operations dyad partners. Is responsible for nursing care delivered including the clinical quality of that care, engagement of team members, adherence to standard work, utilizing and deploying effective nursing research to leverage best practices, achieving workforce and labor management targets, and always upholding professional practice.
Provides executive leadership and creates a culture that supports the delivery of patient-centered care that is specialized and evidence-based. Demonstrates a commitment to research, education, and advocacy. Is accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy.
Is responsible for patient outcomes that meet high quality care standards through collaborative practice with members of the care team. Embeds as an influential member of the ThedaCare leadership team, as a results-oriented leader with strong bias for action and high internal locus of contract. Is seen as a coach and mentor to team members and developing/emerging leaders and as a thought partner to physicians and operations leadership.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing required
- Eight years of progressive responsibility in leadership. Represented by management and director level experience in acute care. Minimally ten years of leadership experience is required as is previous experience as a director or equivalent.
- Prefer experience in a matrixed environment and with dyad or triad working teams is preferred
- Current Wisconsin RN Licensure
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
