About the Role :
Theiagen is a thriving startup at an exciting stage of growth. Having developed organically, we are now seeking a structured approach to scale effectively. Theiagen is looking to add a Controller to our growing team. We are looking for a proactive and strategic IT / Cloud Security Operations Manager to lead the management of our cloud infrastructure and internal systems across multiple platforms. This role is essential to securing and optimizing a variety of cloud-based services (including Google Cloud, AWS) while ensuring efficient user access and role management. You will be pivotal in supporting our expanding team, ensuring system cost-efficiency, and building scalable policies to meet Theiagen’s evolving needs.
- Preference will be given to candidates who are within a commuting distance from Philidelphia, PA for in office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
1. Security Operations Management :
Integration & Single Sign-On (SSO) : Enhance integration by implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) across various PaaS applications, allowing for centralized access and maintaining high security standards.Policy Development & Security : Develop and enforce robust policies for user access, role-based permissions, and data security. Maintain best practices for data protection, particularly for sensitive or geographically restricted information.Data Access Security : Implement and manage secure protocols for sensitive data access, enforcing restrictions based on user roles and geographical location where needed.2. IT System Access and Management :
User Access Control : Manage user access and permissions across multiple PaaS applications (including, but not limited to Zoom, Lucid, GitHub, GCP, AWS, Slack, Office365, Google Workspace, Notion, tMetric, Monday, Zendesk, Tableau) to ensure secure and effective user roles.Endpoint & Software Management : Develop policies for securing and managing employee devices, including antivirus and malware protection, Office applications, and essential software. Ensure all devices are secure, backed up, and optimized for productivity.System Updates & Maintenance : Establish and implement update policies for cloud systems (Google Cloud, AWS), ensuring self-managed platforms are consistently up-to-date, secure, and reliable.Cloud Role & Permission Management : Configure and manage roles and permissions to provide a secure, streamlined setup for all users in cloud-based environments.3. Data and Reporting :
Cost Management & Optimization : Monitor cloud resources, manage costs, and implement optimization strategies to control expenses and maximize resource utilization.System Monitoring & Reporting : Regularly monitor and report on system performance, security, and resource allocation to maintain optimal operations.4. IT Support :
Employee IT Support : Lead efficient onboarding, new system setups, and handle IT requests via Zendesk, providing prompt support to ensure a smooth employee experience.General IT Support : Provide ongoing IT support for employee needs, including password resets, user management, onboarding / offboarding, and any other IT-related tasks as required.Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.Proven experience managing cloud platforms (e.g. Google Cloud, AWS) and IT infrastructure in security-focused environments.Strong understanding of access control, role-based permissions, and PaaS integration, including Single Sign-On (SSO).Experience developing and implementing policies for device security, software management, and cloud cost optimization.Proficiency with helpdesk systems (e.g., Zendesk) and excellent troubleshooting abilities.Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect) are advantageous.Interest in Biology, Public Health, genome sequencing, or bioinformatics is a plus but not required.Benefits
