Social Media Strategist
thelab is looking for a Social Media Strategist to join the team. The ideal applicant is an innately curious social media nerd, a proactive hand-raiser, nimble when faced with the unexpected, and passionate about discovering new ways to connect with audiences.
About the role:
- Hybrid work environment - Tues-Thurs in Flatiron Office
- Salary $75,000-$85,000 commensurate with experience

About You:
- Proactively identify emerging trends to keep clients ahead of the curve
- You excel at translating performance data into insightful reports that enumerate learnings, trends, hypotheses, and next steps in an easy-to-digest format.
- You craft innovative social strategies using audience insights, platform expertise, cultural research, and knowledge of the competitive landscape to deliver on client objectives.
- You can maintain Content Calendars for multiple clients and platforms
- Social listening expertise
- Have experience managing communities on TikTok, Meta, X, Pinterest, and YouTube.
- You love collaborating with creative teams to concept and execute social campaigns and assets
- You’re a trusted partner for our team and clients and can provide guidance on social and content best practices, platform updates and implications.
- You work well across capabilities, engaging with senior agency stakeholders and clients to create overarching social strategies and manage crisis issues.
- You’re the point person for all platform reps to ensure awareness of current best practices, trends, upcoming platform updates, and new products.
The Ideal applicant:
- Has hand-on experience managing paid social ad campaigns and working with creators and influencers
- Is extremely comfortable leading client meetings to present strategies, insights, and performance reports.
- Has successfully launched or grown a fledgling community
- Has experience crafting audience engagement plans, including content pillars and response frameworks.
- Can develop playbooks and case studies to drive thought leadership and share best practices
- Has exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Loves details and pays extra attention to the fine print
Experience:
- 5 years’ experience managing social media platforms or communities for a brand in-house or at an agency
- An undergraduate degree in communications, marketing advertising, public relations, media is preferred but not required
