Overview

The Applications & Business Development Architect will be responsible for applications, technical support, product demonstrations in addition to designing and commissioning Theory Audio Design and Theory Professional systems. This role requires an experienced audio professional who has a proven track record of success across multiple audio disciplines. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and project management skills, along with the ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and vendors. This position involves travel and working in unique environments.

Duties

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee  demonstrations, education, and training at our Southern California Experience Center, trade shows, and events, all phases of system design, from initial design concept through commissioning with customers, consultants, and architects.
  • Business Development – F oster customers, consultants, and architects’ relationships to enhance business growth opportunities across all market segments.
  • Advise & oversee the installation  of Residential, Commercial, and Professional AV systems.
  • Pre & Post Sales coordinate with stake holders to ensure systems are calibrated and commissioned to meet client requirements and our high standards.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation,  including proposals, system designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and collateral materials.
  • Provide training and support  to clients and end-users on the operation and maintenance of installed systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols  and company policies on all job sites.
  • Travel locally & internationally  to oversee projects, attend trade shows and events, which may include working during weekends, and holidays.

  • Project Management :  Expertise in planning and executing complex AV installation projects.
  • Technical Knowledge :  Strong understanding of audiovisual systems and installation processes.
  • Leadership :  Ability to lead and manage diverse project teams effectively.
  • Communication :  Clear and effective communication with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Problem-Solving :  Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving installation issues.
  • Time Management :  Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Client Relations :  Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Software Proficiency :  Experience with EASE, CAD, and other design-related software is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility :  Willingness to travel internationally and work non-standard hours as needed.
  • Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as an Applications Engineer  specifically for audiovisual installation projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in designing, commissioning & troubleshooting AV system installations.
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems, networked audio, and industry standards.
  • CTS certification is highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in audio-over-IP protocols and system implementation, especially Dante and AES 67”.
  • Proficiency in audio disciplines and familiarity with EASE, CAD, or similar design software.
  • Project management abilities are highly desirable.
