Summary:
Theory Wellness is a vertically integrated cannabis brand that operates state-of-the-art cannabis cultivation and retail facilities in Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont and Ohio. We’re seeking an entry-level Human Resource Assistant who is a self starter and committed to supporting our HR Team in meeting strategic goals We're offering a flexible work schedule up to 29 hours per week.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide clerical support for the HR team related to filing, licensing, background checks, documentation support, etc.
- Oversee and maintain our paper filing system including printing and filing all letters, agreements, documents etc., for all employees in paper files in HR office
- Maintain electronic file database in Drive of all of the above documents for access on the road or remotely
- Sort, open and direct mail and make weekly post office runs
- Maintain and update all Employee Files to keep up with Compliance per State Regulations
- Respond to basic correspondence
- Run background checks for employees
- Handle clerical duties to help support the team drive success
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding paperwork process
- Assist with adding, changing and terminating employees through the HR System
- Manage our employee anniversary appreciation program
- Track and provide to Marketing monthly anniversary and birthday data for the newsletter
- Assist with employee benefit audit monthly
- Maintain and purchase office supplies as needed
- Occasionally visit other locations to assist with HR duties or job fairs
- Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:
- A can-do attitude and warm, welcoming personality
- 1 year of experience working in HR or similar professional department required
- 1 year of experience working in a legal environment a plus
- Complete pre-employment assessment and demonstrated skill mastery
- Excellent computer skills including Google Drive, Sheets and Docs as well as Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent office tech skills
- Excellent project management skills
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when dealing with matters of a confidential nature
- Ability to be flexible and juggle multiple projects at the same time
- Experience with PeopleGuru is helpful
- Ability to work independently
- Pass background check and obtain licensing prior to starting
