Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Strategic data architecture design: Creates and manages a comprehensive blueprint that aligns data assets with business goals, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and security. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders to define data standards, governance policies, and integration strategies to support organizational decision-making and innovation
- Data architecture implementation: Involves translating the strategic data architecture design into practical solutions by deploying data models, databases, and data integration processes. This role includes ensuring that data systems are scalable, efficient, and aligned with business requirements. Additionally, it requires continuous monitoring and optimization to maintain data integrity and performance
- Data engineering: Designs, builds, and maintains the infrastructure that supports data collection, storage, and analysis. This role includes developing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and optimizing data workflows for efficiency and scalability. Additionally, data engineers collaborate with data scientists and analysts to provide reliable and accessible data for business insights and decision-making.
- Management of data governance strategy: establishes and enforces policies and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance across the organization. This role participates in defining data ownership, stewardship roles, and accountability frameworks to maintain data integrity. Additionally, it requires continuous monitoring and improvement of data governance practices to support business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Data project management: Plans, executes, and oversees specified data-related projects to ensure they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. This role includes coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing resources, and mitigating risks to achieve project objectives. Additionally, it requires continuous communication with stakeholders to provide updates and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Technical lead: Oversees the technical aspects of specified data projects, ensuring the implementation of best practices and high-quality standards. This role involves guiding and mentoring the data engineering team, resolving technical challenges, and optimizing data solutions for performance and scalability. Additionally, collaborates with stakeholders to align technical strategies with business objectives and drive innovation.
- Stakeholder engagement: Identifies and communicates with all relevant parties to ensure their needs and expectations are understood and addressed. This role includes facilitating regular updates, gathering feedback, and managing stakeholder relationships to maintain alignment and support for the project. Additionally, it requires resolving conflicts and ensuring that stakeholder input is integrated into project planning and execution.
- Dashboard design: Participates in creating visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces that display key metrics and data insights for decision-making. This role includes selecting appropriate visualization techniques, ensuring data accuracy, and optimizing the layout for clarity and accessibility. Additionally, it requires continuous collaboration with stakeholders to tailor dashboards to their specific needs and preferences.
- Data science project team member: Contributes to the development and execution of data-driven solutions by building relevant data pipelines and data sets for use in analyzing large datasets and building predictive models. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, designing experiments, and supporting the data science team(s).
- Leadership and Mentorship: guides team members towards achieving project goals while fostering their professional growth. This role includes providing technical direction, offering constructive feedback, and creating an inclusive environment that encourages collaboration and innovation. Additionally, it requires identifying and nurturing talent, helping team members develop their skills, and supporting their career advancement.
- Additional responsibilities as directed by leadership.
- 5 years of data engineering experience with specific experience in Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Data Factory and PaaS implementations
- 2 years data architecture experience and experience managing analytics projects
- Ability to commute to either Nashville, TN or Tigard, OR a few days each week.
- Experience at the project implementation level and/or driving strategic organizational change
- Experience finding comprehensive solutions to complex data problems
- Experience with data identification and integration from multiple sources
- Advanced competency in data modeling, database design, and data integration tools. Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azurem MS Fabric). Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
- Great written, verbal and visual communication skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Healthcare application experience preferred
