Job Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Department: Clinical Services
Reports To: Clinical Director
Summary:
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a highly skilled professional responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising behavior-analytic interventions for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. The BCBA conducts assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, trains and supervises behavior technicians, and collaborates with families and other professionals to ensure optimal client outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Treatment Planning:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including functional behavior assessments (FBA), to identify the function of challenging behaviors.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and best practices in ABA.
- Utilize a variety of ABA techniques to address communication, social skills, adaptive behavior, and academic skills.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Supervision and Training:
- Supervise and mentor a team of behavior technicians (RBTs).
- Provide ongoing training and feedback to RBTs to ensure treatment fidelity and quality.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists) to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding client progress, treatment plans, and recommendations.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and other relevant meetings.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and data.
- Ensure compliance with ethical and professional standards of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Participate in clinical meetings and trainings.
- Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education and Certification:
- Master's degree in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or a related field.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the BACB.
- Had LBA through WA state DOH and credentialed with commercial insurance.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing ABA therapy to individuals with ASD or other developmental disabilities.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of ABA principles and techniques.
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to travel to client homes, schools, and other community settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with specific populations, such as young children, adolescents, or adults with complex needs.
- Experience with specific ABA approaches, such as verbal behavior (VB) or pivotal response training (PRT).
- Bilingual skills, not required.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a variety of settings, including homes, schools, and clinics.
Work Environment:
- May be exposed to loud noises, bright lights, and extreme temperatures.
- May work with clients who exhibit challenging behaviors.
