Job Summary
The Physical Therapy Technician plays a vital role in supporting the physical therapy team in delivering high-quality patient care. This position involves assisting physical therapists in the treatment of patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or managing chronic conditions. TheraSpecialists Physical Therapy Center is a well-established outpatient private physical therapy practice that has been in operation in Jasper, TX for over 20 years.
Duties
- Assist Physical Therapists or Physical Therapist Assistant in preparing treatment areas and setting up equipment for patient sessions.
- Help patients with exercises and mobility tasks under the supervision of licensed therapists.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy equipment and treatment areas.
- Document patient progress and report any changes to the supervising therapist.
- Educate patients on proper techniques for exercises and activities to promote recovery.
- Ensure patient safety during therapy sessions by monitoring their condition and providing support as needed.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred experience with Health Occupations course material
- Preferred experience with undergraduate-level science courses
Physical Demand Capacity
- Manual dexterity, general strength and endurance
- Lifting--routinely loads of 5-35 pounds from floor to waist, waist to shoulder, shoulder to overhead
- Carrying loads of 5 to 10 pounds for 40 to 50 feet
- Pushing loads of 5 to 150 pounds on casters, runners, or pulleys
- Sustaining a grip of 40 to 50 pounds for 1-2 minutes
- Guarding a "lift load" of 120 to 140 pounds.
