What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counter Sales Representative position at Thermal Specialties?
Thermal Specialties is looking for a Counter Sales Representative for our Distribution Division in Tulsa, OK. Thermal Specialties is a family owned custom manufacturer and service organization. We provide comprehensive solutions to meet our customer’s needs. From next-generation industrial furnace systems and heat-treating capabilities to refractory installation and repair and insulation materials, Thermal Specialties is the single-source provider for high-temperature thermal processing applications.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service and sales support at the sales counter by taking new orders, understanding customer needs, and recommending products
- Answer daily inbound sales calls via call queue (30 daily) to process new orders and answer customer inquiries
- Communicate with customers via email (send order confirmations, quotes, answer customer service questions)
- Enter new sales orders into Sage100 ensuring accuracy with part numbers, selling price, and units of measurement
- Answer questions relating to new and existing customer orders
- Communicate new orders to warehouse to ensure timely delivery to customers
- Communicate will-call pickups to warehouse
- Provide quick and efficient service and ensure maximum customer satisfaction
- Process credit card payments for new orders
- Provide additional administrative support to the sales division as needed
- Possess excellent product knowledge to inform and increase sales
- Be a team player and contribute to a positive work environment
Qualifications & Preferred Skills:
- Willing to learn and develop product knowledge for 50 product lines
- Applied mathematical skills including but not limited to: Geometry, Basic Algebra, etc.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are a must
- Ability to multitask and handle high volume of tasks while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, and via email
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Outlook
- Previous experience in a Manufacturing/Distribution and/or Industrial setting
- High School Diploma (Required)
- Valid Driver’s License (Required)
- Previous experience with HVAC, mechanical, and/or industrial insulation systems (Highly Preferred)
- Thorough understanding of operations policies and practices (Preferred)
- Experience with Sage100 (Preferred)
