Job Summary: The HR Generalist will provide comprehensive HR support and guidance across assigned business units. This role will focus on aligning HR initiatives with business objectives, fostering a positive work environment, and driving employee engagement. The HR Generalist will leverage our HRIS, Paylocity, to manage and analyze employee data, streamline processes, and enhance the employee experience. This position will report directly to the Director of HR.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Support:
- Partner with business leaders to understand their needs and develop HR solutions that support business goals.
- Provide HR guidance on organizational design, talent management, and workforce planning.
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR-related matters.
- Employee Relations:
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough investigations and ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Talent Management:
- Support recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for new hires.
- Assist in the development and implementation of talent development programs, including training and performance management.
- Identify and address talent gaps and develop strategies for talent retention.
- HR Administration and Compliance:
- Utilize Paylocity to manage employee data, generate reports, and analyze HR metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Administer and manage benefits programs, ensuring compliance and addressing employee inquiries.
- Manage and improve the performance review process within Paylocity.
- Paylocity Expertise:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Paylocity-related inquiries and issues.
- Optimize the use of Paylocity to streamline HR processes and improve efficiency.
- Generate and analyze reports from Paylocity to provide insights on HR metrics and trends.
- Troubleshoot Paylocity issues.
- Training and Development:
- Facilitate training on HR related topics, and Paylocity utilization.
- Identify training needs within the organization.
- Vendor and Academic Relations:
- Manage external relationships with vendors and professional organizations such as Cintas for uniform and equipment orders.
- Collaborate with academic institutions to manage apprenticeship programs that foster talent development.
- Corporate Communications and Events:
- Spearhead organizational events and contribute to corporate communications, including announcements regarding personnel changes or company updates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in employee relations, talent management, and HR administration.
- Proficiency in using HRIS systems, specifically Paylocity.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification desired but not required.
