PPD, the clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific, has an opening for a Director, HR - Business Partner at our Central Lab facility in Highland Heights KY, with additional sites in Europe and Asia.
In this global role, you will act as a trusted strategic partner, coach, and change agent to the Central Lab global business leaders. To achieve this, you will collaborate to develop and translate forward-thinking strategy in the areas of talent management, organizational development, performance management, career development, employee relations, diversity, compensation planning, and change leadership into practical HR actions.

What you will contribute:
Talent Approach
- Develop effective global talent strategies and solutions that reinforce our long term business strategy, and promote initiatives to attract, retain, develop, and engage diverse talent.
- Leverage business metrics to encourage the continuous improvement of talent and business capabilities and maintain a positive culture.
- Develop a deep understanding of industry, market, and functional trends to create tailored talent strategies driven by data insights.
- Act as a trusted mentor to people managers in navigating complex leadership and HR matters, including talent development, engagement, and performance.
- Stay abreast of changes in HR law and emerging issues which have the potential to impact the business.
- Collaborate with leaders on organizational design and development initiatives, employing change management strategies. Act as an impetus for change, developing and presenting solutions, and translating strategy into actionable plans.
- Uphold and promote our 4i values (Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement) in all activities.
- Liaise with CoE's in Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Field Human Resources and Regional partners to continuously improve the colleague experience and strengthen our employee value proposition.
- Participate and/lead various process management initiatives that drive efficiency, enhance effectiveness and align with organizational goals and priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Psychology, or related field required, advanced degree preferred.
- Previous HR experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 12 years’ experience).
- In some cases an equivalency, consisting of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
- Demonstrated experience as a senior HR business partner supporting executive leadership.
- Experience working in a global, matrixed, and diverse environment.
- Experience with Process Improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Practical Process Improvement).
- Strong business insight with ability to understand sophisticated organizational structures and environments
- Shown critical thinking and analytical skills with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experienced knowledge of employment law regulations, principles, programs, trends and standard processes
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
- Outstanding project management and presentation skills, communication in English language.
- Effective consultation skills with the ability to influence leaders.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and act with a high level of tact and emotional intelligence.
- Skilled in developing and demonstrating professional relationships with leadership, subordinates, and peers.
- Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable manner.
- Able to work upright and stationary for typical working hours.
- Ability to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency.
- Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.
- As-needed travel (0-20%).
