The Sr Supply Chain Leader at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. offers an outstanding opportunity to join a hard-working team committed to improving global health, cleanliness, and safety. Lead the entire process of planning and purchasing raw materials needed for production, ensuring a consistent supply of materials to meet manufacturing demands while optimizing inventory levels, managing day-to-day supplier relationships and coordinating cross-functionally to ensure timely production and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine and maintain inventory levels to meet lead time targets while reducing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Lead a network-wide team of site-based Material Planners to ensure standard planning processes and timely material purchasing.
- Ensure MRP master data, detailed standard work, and process alignment across the network.
- Support day-to-day supplier relationships and collaborate closely with the Procurement function as a key collaborator in their strategic relationship management.
- Develop and maintain team and site critical metrics.
- Integrate and contribute to site-level Tier reporting systems and advance raw material issues.
- Perform data reporting via Excel, Microsoft Project, Power BI, Oracle, and other systems.
- Use root cause analysis to understand and implement corrective planning and purchasing actions to maintain customer service levels.
- Develop and implement a talent development and acquisition strategy to continuously enhance the supply chain function.
- Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in a Materials or Manufacturing purchasing/planning role.
- Minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience
- Proficient in handling and analyzing data in Excel; sophisticated pivot tables & reporting, power query, charting, data analysis, etc.
- Strong Supply Chain and Financial (P&L) competence.
- Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing concepts and principles, finite scheduling, manufacturing planning, product flow, data management, and supply chain planning.
- Knowledgeable regarding MRP principles and system dynamics.
- Proven track record to quickly learn large amounts of new, sophisticated technical information.
- Ability to demonstrate influencing skills, judgment, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers.
- Certified in APICS CPIM, CSCP, Project management PMP, or ISM CPSM.
- MBA or equivalent experience.
- Lean/six sigma green belt or higher.
- Planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment applying MRP/ERP tools (Made2Manage, Oracle, SAP, JDE, server-based systems).
