Quality Technician
ROLE AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Quality Technician’s primary duty will be to maintain product quality and ensure that all manufacturing processes meet company and regulatory standards. The technician will frequently visit customer sites and ensure that our products are consistent, meet customer expectations, and comply with industry regulations. The Quality Technician will conduct inspections, perform tests, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address any quality issues that arise. This position is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge and strong technical aptitude in sanitation, refrigeration, and electrical components.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of components and finished products according to established procedures.
- Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Record test data and enter it into the quality system database accurately.
- Monitor production processes and perform periodic quality audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Review and verify compliance with product specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Work with the broader team to correct any deviations or issues identified during audits.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection results and findings.
- Prepare and maintain quality reports for management to review.
- Assist in preparing quality documentation, including non-conformance reports and corrective action requests.
- Investigate quality issues and collaborate with team members to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Help troubleshoot or repair cases out in the field as needed.
- Support manufacturers with monthly/quarterly audits, troubleshooting, and repairs as necessary.
- Performs other relevant duties as assigned, i.e., special projects, programs, and developmental activities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with inspection techniques and quality tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, root cause analysis).
- Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficient in MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must have a professional demeanor and be able to exercise discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential information.
- Self-driven, service-oriented, diligent, adaptable, resourceful, and a well-organized team player.
- Highly result-driven, great analytical skills, accountability, and, most importantly, integrity.
- A healthy sense of humor.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in a technical field.
- Certification in quality control, such as Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Six Sigma.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality standards.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and quality assurance methodologies.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, flexibility is essential, as occasional early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday work may be required based on business needs and collaboration with international teams.

This role requires standing for extended periods, working in a manufacturing environment, and may involve lifting items up to 50 pounds. This role will require frequent travel to meet with customers or attend industry events.

Actual compensation packages consider a wide range of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, skill sets, relevant education and certifications, depth of experience, performance, and other business and organizational needs. At Thetford, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
