Senior Sales Trader, US Cash Equity Trading Team
ThinkEquity, LLC (“ThinkEquity”) is a leading NYC-based investment banking firm, specializing in the small to mid-cap equity sector. As a firm, we provide our clients with a suite of comprehensive financial services that cater to the needs of institutional investors, traders, and issuers. We are seeking an experienced sales trader to join our US Cash Equity Trading team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing order flow for existing clients, while also uncovering new opportunities to increase revenue. This individual is expected to come in with a pre-existing book of business and will be responsible for providing exceptional client service, expert market knowledge, and managing equity order flow to ensure the best execution for clients. This includes performing client portfolio trades, block trades, and corporate buybacks for issuers.
In addition to managing current clients, the sales trader will contribute to implementing new capabilities, workflow tools, and consistent trade implementation strategies that support both execution quality and client satisfaction.
Our Desk: ThinkEquity’s agency-only trading desk is comprised of traders with years of experience in servicing institutional customers. We are NYSE members with both an upstairs desk and a physical booth on the Floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Our NYSE floor trading operation is staffed by a team of seasoned industry veterans, and provides unique trading opportunities and large institutional flow to the upstairs desk that is only available to very limited number of trading firms. Our long-standing relationship with the NYSE gives us an ability to maximize trading strategies for clients and provide unparalleled access to liquidity in NYSE-listed names.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Utilize extensive knowledge of equity execution to support the firm’s institutional client base.
- Identify & qualify new institutional investors, including but not limited to mutual funds, hedge funds, pension funds, investment managers, family offices, etc.
- Execute large / block orders in accordance with regulatory standards and client best execution practices.
- Become knowledgeable in the firm’s issuer transactions.
- Book institutional clients to deal and non-deal roadshows both in the U.S. and overseas.
- Communicate with respect & confidence as a representative of ThinkEquity.
Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree required.
- 5 years of experience in equities, sales trading, quantitative trading, and/or other trading technologies.
- An established institutional book of business.
- Ability to manage existing relationships and the develop new business for the trading desk.
- FINRA licenses: Series 7, 63, 57 (or equivalent compliance alternatives required to trade).
- Experienced understanding of sophisticated trading strategies and market structure.
- Apply analytical discipline in algo selection, execution, and risk management by using your understanding of our client’s investment process.
- Strong communication skills over the phone, good organizational skills, and a collaborative team approach.
- Proven ability in managing and building relationships with an institutional client base.
- Experience with Bloomberg, Fidessa (or other trading systems).

Compensation will be based on commission.
