Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our healthcare team in Rochester, NY. This is a 13-week contract position with the possibility of extension, offering a great opportunity to contribute to quality patient care while gaining valuable experience in a clinical setting.
As a PCT, you will work closely with nurses and medical staff to provide direct patient care and ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about helping others and interested in advancing their healthcare careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs, weights, and other basic health data
- Support nursing staff with patient care tasks and documentation
- Monitor patient status and report any changes to the nursing team
- Ensure a clean and comfortable environment for patients
- Transport patients within the facility as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or Patient Care Technician program (preferred)
- Previous experience in a hospital, clinic, or long-term care facility
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
