Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Phlebotomist to join our team on a 13-week contract in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and transportation of specimens while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood collection procedures.
- Properly label and process specimens for laboratory testing.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols.
- Verify patient identity and ensure accurate documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
- Maintain and organize phlebotomy equipment and supplies.
Requirements:
- Certification as a Phlebotomist (CPT) preferred.
- Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is a plus.
- Proficiency in using laboratory software and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
