Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team in Davenport, IA. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of decontamination, sterilization, and the preparation of surgical instruments and equipment. This is a contract position offering a consistent day shift schedule and the potential for extension based on performance and facility needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays.
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment including steam, gas, and low-temperature sterilizers.
- Maintain accurate sterilization records and logs in compliance with facility protocols and industry standards.
- Ensure all instruments and equipment are processed and ready for use in a timely manner.
- Collaborate closely with the surgical team and other departments to ensure proper inventory and timely delivery of sterile supplies.
- Adhere to infection control standards and safety procedures at all times.
Requirements:
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CBSPD or CRCST preferred).
- Previous experience in a hospital or surgical setting strongly preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of proper sterilization techniques and infection control protocols.
