What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance, Risk and Safety Coordinator position at Thira Health?
Primary Purpose and Function
Tracks risk and safety data, creates reports and co-leads the Risk and Safety meetings. Coordinates the re-accreditation process and maintains agency-wide Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) processes and records. Performs research and provides operational support and overall coordination to ensure program compliance to meet quality and accreditation standards.
Required Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or General Equivalency (GED), plus two (2) years of relevant experience working in a risk and safety capacity
· Minimum of five (5) years relevant and progressively responsible experience
· Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and the ability to use various software programs
· Successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check (Federal and state)
· Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends & holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in a human service or business-related field
· Valid WA state driver’s license; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
· Familiarity and/or experience with Performance and Quality Improvement processes

Risk and Safety
· Create accident and safety reports and share information with the Manager of Risk and Compliance and the Risk and Safety Committee
· Compile and create statistical data reports on exposure factors related to accidents and occupational illnesses
· Create tasks lists and annual spreadsheets for Emergency Preparedness activities
· Develop and maintain records and reports to support agency-wide safety, training, policy enforcement and provide advice and assistance to all departments and related committees
· Prepare, coordinate, and document safety meetings
Program Compliance and Quality
· Collaborate with the Manager of Risk and Compliance, Program Directors, and other managerial program employees to create, maintain, and revise documentation needed for the efficient operation of services, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards and any licensing regulations (e.g., program manuals, process flowcharts, etc.)
· Work closely with the Compliance, Risk and Safety Manager, and collaborate with the Program Directors, to improve THIRA Health’s capacity to track, analyze, report, and utilize program performance data
· Work with the Program Divisions to create and maintain a calendar to track external program audits
· Provide support in audit preparation, corrective action resolution, and audit debriefs
· Work in tandem with the Compliance, Risk and Safety Manager, and the Programs team, to prepare for the Council on Accreditation (COA) re-accreditation process
· Review and upload all relevant Council on Accreditation (COA) to the online COA portal in preparation for re-accreditation, to meet all Self Study requirements and timelines
· Continuously complete annual reports and any additional data submissions required to maintain accreditation status
· Coordinate efforts to collect data for the quarterly and annual Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) reports
· Maintain Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) reports calendar and ensure the integrity and timeliness of the required reporting
· Compile data for internal and external performance monitoring, as requested
Infection Control Administration
· Collaborate with key members of THIRA Health to strategize and organize infection control response to active outbreak(s); connect various relevant disciplines to form cohesive plan
· Keep current on changing CDC or DOH information/requirements regarding infection control, outbreak updates, and patient/staff safety; provide guidance to medical team and Leadership teams regarding best practice approach and response
· Implement any policies, procedures, and responses regarding an outbreak and/or infection control update as directed
· Track data regarding infection control as it pertains to public health safety of staff, patients, and the general facility; prepare and present regular reports on data and trends; identify opportunities for improvement/development
· Maintain thorough and organized documentation of outbreak management, response, and data
· Collaborate with relevant departments to prepare for Department of Health (DOH) visit(s) and/or accreditation audits as they relate to infection control policies, procedures, and data
· Serve as point person for general infection control and public health related questions; escalate as needed
· Coordinate all infection control and health-safety related meetings; record/compile meeting agendas & notes
· Assist in the review of disinfection methods and make recommendations as required

Work Environment
Work is performed primarily indoors. Lighting is artificial with some natural. Equipment used includes standard office equipment, i.e. computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, printer, and scanner. Physical demands include sitting, walking, standing, bending over, repetitive use of hands, and lifting up to 25lbs. Position requires close contact with all THIRA Health staff and mental health patients. Hours and days can vary within a Saturday through Friday work week.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.90 - $36.11 per hour
