SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, conducts comprehensive legal research and analysis to support judicial proceedings. This role involves reviewing and interpreting laws, court decisions, and legal documents across civil, family, and criminal matters, and drafting memoranda and opinions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis of complex legal issues.
• Draft legal memoranda, opinions, and related documents.
• Review and analyze pleadings, motions, and other court filings.
• Compile legal references and prepare summaries of findings.
• Respond to legal inquiries from attorneys, litigants, and the public.
• Maintain current knowledge of legal developments and court procedures.
• Prepare motions, pleadings, responses to subpoenas as directed by Supervision.
• Perform administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Licenses and Certifications:
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Member of State Bar of Michigan in good standing.
• Proficiency in legal research platforms (Westlaw, Lexis) and MS Office Suite.
• Experience in Family Domestic and/or Family Juvenile Law preferred.
