What are the responsibilities and job description for the Victim Advocate and prosecutor assistant position at Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney?
This is a combination of two part time jobs. Victim advocate duties include:
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to victims of crime
- Conduct needs assessments and develop individualized safety plans for victims
- Assist victims in accessing necessary resources, such as counseling services, legal assistance, and housing
- Accompany victims to court hearings, interviews with prosecutors, law enforcement and other necessary appointments
- Advocate for victims' rights and ensure their voices are heard throughout the criminal justice process
- Collaborate with law enforcement, social service agencies, and other community organizations to coordinate services for victims
- Document all interactions and maintain accurate records of services provided
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma or victimization
- ability to use microsoft word and microsoft
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage conflict and de-escalate tense situations
- Empathy and compassion for individuals in crisis
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
Office assistant duties include:
- scan and save legal documents
- answer the phone, return phone calls and take messages.
- track and fulfill discovery responses in timely manner
- help manage criminal docket on court dates
- help organize criminal case files in consistent manner
- keep office clean and orderly when needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
