We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Health Care Assistant to join our team in our dental, medical and behavioral health department, located in Mansfield, OH. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive patient experience from the moment they enter our facility. As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for efficiently and accurately registering patients, verifying insurance information, and assisting with any administrative tasks related to patient intake.
Full-Time: Monday-Friday
Wages: Starting at $16.55 per hour

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

- Competently utilizes the electronic health record.
- Competently schedules patients for transportation services.
- Ensure accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information to promote proper and expedient billing.
- Correctly routes patient and client communication through appropriate channels as per organizational policy.
- Promote, educate and leverage technology to ensure patient satisfaction, collaboration, and continuity of care.
- Requires high level of discretion as related to privacy and confidentiality.
- Endeavor to provide adequate notice of time away from work.
- Makes reminder calls and follows up with patients as needed directed.
- Provides excellent customer service to patients, clients and colleagues.
- Orient the patient about what to expect during their visit.
- Understands and implements slide fee.
- Collects copays as required by organizational policy.
- Asks appropriate questions to advance understanding of assigned job tasks.
- Maintains working knowledge of all service lines offered at Third Street.
- Establishes enduring, trusting relationships with patients, clients and colleagues.
- Work efficiently both individually and within a team to accomplish required tasks.
- Participate in meetings and trainings as requested.
- Working knowledge of and adherence to risk and quality measures.
- Be a positive role model for all health center staff.
- Willing to assist in on-boarding and training of team members who are new to the organization.
- Ability to travel to any Third Street Family health center as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
- Experience with EMR/EHR (Preferred)
- Experience with customer service (Preferred)
- Experience with office duties (Preferred)
- Experience with insurance verification (Preferred)
