Job Summary
At This Is My Quest, Inc, we are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of individuals in our community. Our mission is to provide compassionate, client-centered care that empowers individuals to overcome challenges and lead fulfilling lives. We are currently seeking a Behavioral Health Support Specialist to join our team on a part-time, as-needed basis. This is a position that works with youth, women, and veterans.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Direct Support: Offer behavioral health support to youth, women, and veterans through individual and group counseling sessions, both in-person and remotely.
- Develop and Implement Care Plans: Assist clients in developing personalized care plans based on their specific needs, goals, and challenges.
- Provide Crisis Intervention: Be available to provide crisis intervention as needed, offering emotional support and guidance during difficult times.
- Connect Clients to Resources: Help clients access relevant community resources.
- Maintain Client Records: Ensure accurate documentation of client interactions, progress, and care plans, maintaining confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other behavioral health professionals, case managers, and support staff to ensure holistic, coordinated care for clients.
- Assist in Outreach: Engage with community partners and organizations to promote behavioral health resources and provide outreach to clients in need.
- Support Client Empowerment: Encourage clients to develop coping strategies, life skills, and self-advocacy to enhance their independence and long-term well-being.
- Attend Team Meetings and Trainings: Participate in staff meetings, case reviews, and professional development opportunities to improve service delivery and personal growth.
Experience
- Experience in Behavioral Health: Previous work in a behavioral health, mental health, or social services setting, preferably working with youth, women, or veterans.
- Counseling or Case Management: Experience providing individual counseling, group therapy, or case management services to individuals facing mental health challenges.
- Trauma-Informed Care: Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and the ability to provide support in a way that respects clients' past experiences.
- Crisis Intervention: Experience in managing crisis situations, providing immediate support, and referring clients to appropriate services.
- Knowledge of Community Resources: Familiarity with local mental health, housing, and social services resources to connect clients with the support they need.
- Cultural Competence: Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including various racial, cultural, socioeconomic, and gender identities, with a focus on inclusivity.
- Experience with Youth, Women, or Veterans: Specific experience working with one or more of the targeted populations (youth, women, veterans) is preferred.
- Documentation and Compliance: Knowledge of confidentiality standards, legal requirements, and experience with maintaining accurate client records and reports.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, case managers, and other behavioral health professionals.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Understanding of the unique challenges faced by youth, women, and veterans, and the ability to tailor support to meet their specific needs.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.20 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 4 per week
