Responsibilities
- Offer legal counsel on complex legal matters related to operations, regulatory compliance, and member issues
- Lead the legal department, including oversight of legal professionals and support staff
- Collaborate with leadership to provide legal perspectives on strategic initiatives
- Represent the organization in court proceedings as needed
- Ensure legal compliance for Board of Directors' activities, meetings, and documentation
- Handle responses to legal and regulatory issues, including audits and member litigation
- Advocate for legislative and industry developments, sharing insights with the organization
- Negotiate and execute legal contracts
- Oversee the processing of legal documents, such as levies and garnishments
- Develop and manage member litigation processes
- Law degree with a concentration in Business Law
- Successful completion of the Bar examination
- At least 10 years of legal experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial or banking compliance
