Description
Thomann Asphalt is a family-owned full-service asphalt paving company. Thomann’s extensive experience has kept the paving contractor in business for 100 years. The Company’s primary focus is on commercial and industrial paving and site work projects in both the private and public sectors. We specialize in parking lot maintenance, including paving, patching, seal coating, crack sealing, drain work, and site work, which includes a full complement of grading, excavating, and utility installation services. We are currently searching for an experienced Concrete Laborer/Finisher to join the team!
Essential Functions
- Performs a variety of tasks involving manual labor for concrete projects
- Clean and prepare job sites, dig trenches, set braces to support form work
- Understand and execute concrete procedures to meet the specifications of the project
- Setting forms that hold concrete in place
- Pouring, smoothing, and leveling concrete using a rake, trowel, float and screed
- Ensure poured concrete is laid and finished to the highest standard.
- Operate equipment as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates primarily in an outdoor work environment, in all weather conditions.
Physical Demands
The employee is frequently required to stand and occasionally climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to push, pull, move and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb and descend a flight of stairs as needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Extended hours, nights and weekend work may be necessary based on business needs. While in season, the typical work week is approximately 50-60 hours.
Travel
This position may require travel and out-of-town work on occasion.

Compensation
Hourly range is $25.00 - $31.00 (depending on experience)

Requirements
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years of experience in concrete preferred
- OSHA 10-hour certification is preferred but not required
Qualifications
- Self-motivated, safety-minded, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of working with concrete
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
- Ability to comply with safety regulations
- Adherence to the attendance policy
