Thomas, Drohan, Waxman, Petigrow & Mayle, LLP (www.tdwpm.com), located in the Hudson Valley region of New York, is seeking an experienced labor attorney for our growing law firm.
Our firm offers a multitude of management-side legal services to educational, municipal and private clients throughout the Hudson Valley area. Our firm has been representing school districts, higher education institutions, public libraries, municipalities and private employers for decades.
Responsibilities may include:
- Handling public sector union negotiations as well as some private sector union negotiations
- Handling administrative hearings, including union contract disputes and employee discipline hearings
- Providing general counsel in a variety of subject areas, including, but not limited to, labor and employment; discrimination and harassment; employee discipline.
- Direct client contact
- Travel to client meetings throughout the Hudson Valley from our office in Hopewell Junction, NY (no overnight travel required)
Qualifications:
- 1-5 years’ experience with handling labor unions, preferably in the public sector
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and admitted to the New York bar
- Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
Salary range for the position: $80,000-$120,000 depending on experience with full benefits package offered and profit sharing.
