The Collections & Credit Specialist is responsible for collecting payments from TFI USA customers in a timely & professional manner, help resolve any customer issues preventing timely payment, assist with customer credit, and various responsibilities within the Accounts Receivable Team. This role will be required to exercise organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail while working closely with sales, operations, and accounting as well as with our customers and distributors. The ideal candidate is organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated who wants to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Contact clients with now due and overdue invoices, both by phone and e-mail, to ensure timely payments.
- Monitor aging reports daily.
- Follow up on non-communication as well as promises to pay not kept.
- Monitor customer portals, quickly identifying & resolving issues, escalate as necessary
- Provide thorough and accurate documentation (invoices, statements, POD, remits, etc.) of clients’ accounts through communication channels, keeping record of all collection activities.
- Assist the Accounts Receivable Supervisor Credit & Collections with the customer credit process. May include both new & existing customers.
- Periodically assist with other Accounts Receivable department functions (Billing, cash, deductions)
Skills
- 2– 4 years of accounts receivable B2B collections experience (preferably in the food industry)
- Proven track record of collecting and reducing past due debts and maintaining current account balances in a portfolio with high dollar invoices
- Experience assisting with customer credit process
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment·
- Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite is a plus
- Prior Portal experience (Walmart, Target, Sysco, etc.) is a plus
- Detail oriented & Self-motivated
- Be a team player, positive and pro-active attitude
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
