What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Coordinator-2nd Shift-English/Spanish Bilingual position at Thomas Foods International USA?
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources & Safety, the Human Resources Clerk will provide day-to-day onsite staffing support to all non-office departments within Thomas Foods International USA. He/she will work closely with management to determine staffing needs, then work with temporary agencies to fill positions with qualified applicants. The Clerk will handle the induction process for new temporary staff to become acclimated to the company and their role. This is a 2nd shift position, with expected hours to be from 2pm-10:30 pm.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- On a daily basis, obtain information from management to determine the temporary staffing needs within each non-office department
- Work with on-site staffing agency to fill open positions on a frequent basis
- Develop relationships with contacts at staffing agencies on file with TFI USA; foster new relationships with other local staffing agencies
- Assist with safety training
- Create and assign badges to new temporary staff and replace lost badges as needed; track replacement badges issues
- Conduct regular walk-throughs of each non-office department to check in on new staff to see how they are doing in their new role and address any concerns they may have
- Review the timesheets exceptions report to assist managers with correcting missed punches for temporary staff daily
- Develop a rapport with the temporary staff and assist with questions or issues that arise
- Complete the Employee Feedback Form whenever an issue is discussed with temporary staff
- Make recommendations to the Director of HR & Safety for process improvements related to onboarding prior to making any changes
- Assist with attendance tracking and related systems
- Translate documents or conversations from English to Spanish or vice versa
- Work closely with agency contacts on retention and obtain reasons temporary staff leave their position at TFI USA
- Conduct exit interviews with temporary staff who resign from their position with TFI USA
- Assist HR team with employee related events (lunches, summer treats, etc.)
- Assist with other projects and tasks as requested by management within scope and abilities
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED; Associates degree preferred in business or human resources
- 2 years of experience in a Human Resources or recruiting role for a manufacturing facility; food manufacturing preferred
- Bilingual in English/Spanish required
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Spanish
- Ability to build a rapport with staff and be a resource
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations and address issues that may arise with staff
- Ability to navigate through the programs within Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong understanding of confidentiality and ability to be involved in confidential conversations
- Ability to multitask and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented, results driven, strong time management skills
- Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide input on developing new SOPs for recruitment and staffing needs
- Understand, abide by, and enforce all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by Thomas Foods International, USA
