Survey Technician
Thomas & Hutton is a privately held professional services company founded in 1946. To provide quality service and project support to our public and private clients, our services include Civil, Environmental, Structural and Marine Engineering; Land Surveying; Land Planning; Landscape Architecture; Geographic Information Systems and Construction Administration.
Thomas & Hutton has an opening for a Survey Technician to join our Survey Department in Myrtle Beach, SC. Surveying experience and knowledge of and ability to prepare drawings in AutoCAD required. Previous experience preparing boundary, topographic, ALTA and wetland surveys.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Associates Degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying preferred CST Level I or II (Office) certification preferred.
Experience: 3 years of Surveying experience in Construction, Boundaries, and Topographic Surveys.
Skills:
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, with Civil 3D and Carlson Software preferred.
- Proficient in use of Microstation and OpenRoads is a plus.
- Knowledge of surveying practices and procedures (Field & Office).
- Ability to work 700AM - 530PM Mon-Thursday. 700AM - 1130AM Friday with occasional overtime.
- Ability to read and interpret plats deeds, easements and plans.
- Must be able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- A valid driver’s license is required.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an environment that may contain venomous snakes and insects such as ticks, red bugs, wasps, bees, hornets, yellow jackets, etc.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in a wide range of temperatures.
- Ability to climb hills and walk long distances.
- Ability to traverse different types of terrain.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75lbs.
- Ability to interact both verbally and written
