Job Summary
This is a critical role within Thomas Industrial Coatings where the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, quality and efficiency of all maintenance operations.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and functional work environment in accordance with company standards
- Conduct preventative maintenance checks and inspections on heavy duty equipment including diesel, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Diagnose mechanical problems on all equipment and implement corrective actions to maintain maximum production and quality
- Utilize diagnostic tools to test the functionality of equipment and ensure it meets quality standards
- Provide technical support in the field to diagnose and repair equipment
- Attend educational classes to enhance knowledge and skills in equipment maintenance and repair
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and standards related to equipment operation and maintenance
Requirements
- Physical ability to stand or walk for long periods, use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects, lift, carry, push and pull materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds
- Able to work productively in a variety of weather conditions
- Mental alertness to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously and in an efficient manner
- Active listening, speaking and writing skills to effectively communicate with clients and co-workers
- Reading comprehension to understand written documents and instructions
- Service orientation to work in high production environments and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
- Critical thinking to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and approaches to problems
- Near vision to see details at close range
- Speech clarity and recognition to communicate effectively
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and proprietary software required for the job
- Valid driver's license and CDL preferred
- CPR, First Aid certification and OSHA 30 preferred
Experience and Education
- Associates degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- At least 2 years' experience in heavy duty equipment maintenance and repair preferred
