PRIMARY FUNCTION :
Plans, organizes and directs the functions and activities of the Department of Healthcare Safety Services for Jefferson Health Oversees security operations and ensures enforcement of all regulations and policies and procedures essential to a safe and secure campus and hospital environment. Works collaboratively with Public Safety and hospital operational leadership to direct the daily security operations.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Provides overall direction, oversight and expertise for security operations at Jefferson Health.
- Works collaboratively with Public Safety to complete internal investigations related to any criminal activity or other activity that can be considered a vulnerability to the hospital mission.
- Provides overall direction and leadership to hospital operations regarding regulatory compliance and policies and procedures related to Healthcare Safety Services
- Ensures Healthcare Safety Services staff receive appropriate training on the use of force management of aggressive behavior and other required training.
- Manages a staff of employees and departmental budgets and controls the expenditure of funds for related cost centers.
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES needed in addition to Essential Functions :
Organizes and implements policies needed to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Develops a method of interviews to ensure that the best personnel are hired.
Directs the daily operation of department through a Regional Security Directors and shift managers.
Ensures that all employee evaluations are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
Coordinates with chairs of EOC and Emergency Mgt Committees to ensure departments readiness.
Conducts a security orientation for all new students and employees.
Prepares, submits and operates within cost center budgets.
