Thomas Sign & Awning in Clearwater, Florida, creates brands that get businesses noticed and tower over the competition. We are looking for an experienced Draftsman / Mechanical Designer that is creative and motivated, to join our design department.
This candidate must be familiar with technical drawings; as well as mechanical drafting, blue prints, engineering drawings, schematics and CAD Design, as they relate to the manufacturing, building and installation of the sign.
Job Description
- Translate client needs and branding strategy into design strategy.
- Interpret designs and engineering drawings.
- Review dimensions and other criteria, including spelling.
- Ability to draw to scale.
- Confirm that final drawings match the work orders.
- Prepare drawings for production.
- Creativity skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Solid understanding of math, as it relates to dimensions and measurements.
- Must be able to read a ruler / tape measure. Ability to think in a three-dimensional manner.
Requirements: Must have experience working with CorelDRAW or similar program.
Previous construction / design / manufacturing experience is helpful.
Job Type: Full-time position in our Clearwater location.
