Job Overview:
Train, develop and supervise maintenance employees across multiple shifts in our Brooklyn, Iowa location. Primary function is to oversee the maintenance department, including maintenance and repair of production equipment, planning and scheduling activities, preventative maintenance, and inventory management of spare parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directs and coordinates the installation, maintenance and repair of machines and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings and grounds.
- Able to design parts and create prints as needed for equipment and facility improvements and repairs.
- Maintain compliance with and actively support safe operating procedures including lock out/tag out.
- Oversee environmental reporting for the company including air emissions permitting and hazardous waste.
- Supports good housekeeping standards.
- Responsible for assisting maintenance employees to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, determine root cause and initiate immediate and long-term corrections.
- Provides leadership for department employees to ensure timely resolution of maintenance needs that minimize production downtime.
- Works closely with production to ensure resolution of equipment problems and improvement of operation of production equipment based on priority needs.
- Manages Preventive Maintenance program.
- Manages spare parts inventory through ensuring adequate inventory.
Requirements for success:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three to five years of manufacturing/maintenance experience
- Two years of supervisory experience
Preferred qualifications for success:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or trade related field or equivalent work experience
- Prior experience working as a maintenance manager, repair manager, or in related role
- Prior manufacturing experience
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated experience working in a management role
- Excellent computer skills: excel, word, power point
