What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paint Prep position at THOMPSON FABRICATION LLC?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
o Keep forklifts clean inside and out
o Keep yard organized and free of all wood blocking and pallets
o Assist in off-loading any raw material we receive in the yard, as needed
o Assist in snow removal and parking lot de-icing in the winter
o Apply and oversee that decals are applied correctly
o Remove containers from the storage area once they are dry and ready to be kept outside
o Water test sealed containers for leaks with gas powered pump
o Grease all fittings on containers (wheels, hinges, pivot points, etc.)
o Organize and stack the containers in the yard for outbound shipments
o Load containers on trailers, assuring the stacks are road legal in accordance with width, height, and length guidelines
o Make sure all loose parts that are to ship with the containers make it onto the truck
o Use a 4” power grinder with a wire wheel on all welds on the outside of the container
o Use a 4” power grinder with a flap disc to buff all corners and sharp edges
o Use the air hose to remove debris from the inside of the container before moving into it to the wash bay
o Move container into wash bay and pressure wash with Phosphate wash system according to established procedure
o Use air hose to remove excess cleaning solution from the outside of the container
