Skilled Laborer: Heavy Machine Operator

Thompson Thrift is seeking a Skilled Laborer: Heavy Machine Operator to join our team working at our Ranch near Paris, Illinois. The position is full-time and includes great pay, benefits, 401k, PTO and bonus potential! Join our team today!

Duties And Responsibilities

• Use equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment
• Move, load, or unload materials
• Assist in light construction if necessary
• Perform general site clean-up – remove debris and trash from work site
• Some specialized tasks may require on-the job training
• Operates trucks of various sizes for loading, hauling, and unloading equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Operates construction and power equipment, including backhoes, man-lifts, dump trucks, snowplows, road graders, front-end loaders, hydraulic excavators, and skid steers.
• Uses small equipment and tools such as jackhammers, mowers, and brush chippers.
• Conducts routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, reporting defects or needed repairs to the supervisor.
• Cleans and maintains equipment.
• Performs all duties in compliance with safety and security standards.
• Ability to work in both outside/ inside environmental and atmospheric conditions
• Ability to operate heavy equipment as needed
• Physical demands over 60 pounds
• Ability to work with the team to ensure grounds are picked up on a daily basis, that trash is removed daily, and that any additional jobs are communicated to Manager and Supervisor.
  
  

Pre-requisites

• High school diploma/ GED equivalent required
• Must be team-oriented and have a strong work ethic
• Able to stand on your feet for long periods of time
• Able to work in all weather conditions
• Able to lift light to heavy objects

Performing this job requires the use of hands to finer, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear (bells, whistles, etc.), stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
