Your Role as Preconstruction & Design Manager:
As a Preconstruction & Design Manager, you will oversee project design from the conceptual stage through final construction documents, acting as a key liaison between ownership, design professionals, and general contractors. Your expertise in multifamily development, preconstruction, and construction design will help ensure a seamless transition from planning to execution.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and coordinate the preconstruction and design process for multifamily residential projects.
- Review and refine architectural, structural, MEP, civil, and landscape plans to identify deficiencies, cost-saving opportunities, and constructability challenges.
- Oversee and manage RFPs for contractor proposals, ensuring accuracy and budget alignment.
- Analyze contractor proposals, reviewing pricing and scope to provide recommendations to the development and construction teams.
- Interpret geotechnical reports and ensure design compliance with site conditions.
- Facilitate coordination between architects, engineers, and general contractors to ensure project success.
- Manage the building permit process, ensuring all applications, approvals, and compliance requirements are met.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in preconstruction, project management, or real estate development (multifamily preferred).
- Strong understanding of construction pricing, design coordination, and accessibility codes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Ability to lead meetings, communicate effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving in preconstruction and design.
