Position Title: Medium Duty/Municipality Salesperson
Department: Sales
Reports To: Sales Manager
Position Purpose:
The Medium Duty/Municipality Salesperson will be responsible for generating sales, managing relationships, and providing solutions to customers in the medium-duty truck and municipality sectors. This role requires a deep understanding of the industry, strong customer service skills, and the ability to effectively sell vehicles and services to municipal clients and fleet managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with municipal clients, government agencies, fleet managers, and other key decision-makers.
- Identify new business opportunities and actively prospect for new customers in the medium-duty truck and municipality markets.
- Assist customers in selecting the appropriate vehicles and equipment for their needs, including trucks, chassis, and specialized upfit solutions.
- Provide accurate product information and educate customers on the features and benefits of different medium-duty trucks and services.
- Prepare and present sales proposals, including pricing, financing options, and product recommendations.
- Negotiate terms of sale, close deals, and follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Work closely with the Service and Parts departments to ensure seamless order fulfillment, delivery, and customer support.
- Attend industry trade shows, municipal conferences, and events to build relationships and stay up to date on industry trends.
- Collaborate with the sales team to achieve sales targets and increase market share in the medium-duty and municipality sectors.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, and progress through the sales pipeline using CRM tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the medium-duty truck or municipality markets, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of the medium-duty truck market, municipal purchasing processes, and fleet management needs.
- Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships and close sales.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Self-motivated with a strong drive to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience selling trucks or heavy equipment to municipal clients or government agencies.
- Familiarity with truck upfitting, vehicle specifications, and municipal vehicle requirements.
- Knowledge of municipal bidding processes and procurement procedures.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
Performance Goals:
- Sales revenue and targets for medium-duty and municipality truck sales.
- Customer satisfaction and repeat business from municipal clients.
- Timeliness and accuracy of sales proposals, quotes, and orders.
- Successful execution of customer contracts and follow-up for after-sales service.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
