Job Title: Parts Counter Sales Representative

Job Summary:
The Parts Counter Sales Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting with parts inquiries and orders, and ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of parts requests for both internal and external customers. This role combines sales, customer service, inventory management, and in-depth product knowledge to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Sales:
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, both in person and over the phone.
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct parts using catalogs (both paper and electronic), computer systems, and product knowledge.
- Provide accurate and informative answers regarding product features, availability, pricing, and order status.
- Promote and sell additional parts, accessories, and services to customers.
- Process sales transactions, including cash, credit card, and account payments.
- Handle customer returns and exchanges according to company policy.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and timely manner.
Order Fulfillment & Inventory Management:
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Locate parts in inventory or special order from suppliers.
- Pull and prepare parts orders for customers or service technicians.
- Assist with receiving and stocking incoming parts shipments.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by participating in cycle counts and identifying discrepancies.
- Keep the parts department and counter area clean, organized, and safe.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Collaborate with service technicians to ensure parts availability for repairs.
- Follow up on backorders and provide customers with timely status updates.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous parts sales or customer service experience.
- Basic knowledge of automotive parts, systems, and repair procedures.
- Familiarity with parts catalogs and inventory management systems.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift and move parts up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
