Collection Agent

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Collection Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding debts while maintaining positive relationships with clients. This role requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of financial concepts, and the ability to negotiate effectively. Experience in collections is a plus.

Duties

• Contact clients via phone and email to collect outstanding debts and resolve payment issues.
• Analyze accounts to determine the best course of action for collection.
• Negotiate payment arrangements with clients while adhering to company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions in accounting software.
• Process payments and update accounts payable as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to debt collection.
• Provide excellent phone etiquette during all interactions with clients.

Skills

• Proficiency in collection processes is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of debits, credits, and general accounting principles.
• Experience using accounting software for tracking payments and account management.
• Ability to negotiate effectively while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
• Familiarity with financial concepts related to debt collection and account analysis.
• Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
