Quality Manager / Project Manager / OPEX Coordinator
Thor Motor Coach is looking for a Quality Manager / Project Manager / OPEX Coordinator to join our team. This position will support our Wakarusa, Elkhart, and Bristol locations.
Basic Requirements:
- Able to clearly communicate with all levels of TMC employees.
- Able to communicate with TMC vendors.
- Represent TMC and the offline groups in a professional manner.
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Able to work on his / her own without direct supervision.
- Has a reliable vehicle and able to travel between all TMC plants.
Quality Manager requirements:
- This will be 70% of the job. Focus on solving quality issues.
- Work directly with Offline Director and Plant Managers to solve quality problems.
- Able to investigate quality issues impartially. Find root cause.
- Work with Offline groups and production plant groups to solve quality issues.
- Document issues, write standard work instructions, lead investigation team to solve quality problems.
- Lead quality meetings. Main focus is solving quality problems.
- Attend production plant OPEX meetings to gather or give quality information.
- Work with Offline groups QC personnel, revise quality check sheets, explain the “why” on quality issues resolutions.
- Visit production plants weekly for a line walk with Lamination Plant Manager. Talk with operators on the line to get / give quality information.
- Watch “Lam Log” for repetitive quality issues and investigate.
- Communicate with Offline repairmen to gather information on quality issues.
- Take part in and help initiate LPA program in Lamination.
Project Manager requirements:
- Work directly with Director and Offline Plant Managers on projects.
- Work with all levels of TMC and Thor Corporate personnel including the USIL group.
- Able to gather project information as directed.
- Have a basic understanding of automation and able to learn and understand technology opportunities.
- Lead continuous improvement projects as required.
- Document project information as required.
- Help put together project justifications and ROI.
OPEX Coordinator requirements:
- General understanding of OPEX initiatives.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
- Standard Work Instruction experience.
- Continuous Improvement knowledge.
- Ability to work with Supervisors and help them with Supervisor Boards and communicating with their work groups.
- Monitor Accountability Boards at Lamination to make sure process is being followed.
- Visual documentation. Go-No go pictures, etc.
- Ability to think outside the box. Bring to light, new and /or different ideas.
