JOB OVERVIEW:

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative Functions:
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings and screening applicants
- Conduct initial phone interviews to assess candidate suitability
- Help organize and participate in new employee orientation programs
- Maintain and update employee records and files
- Support the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives
- Assist in creating and distributing HR-related internal or external communications
- Participate in HR projects and provide input on process improvements
- Assist with payroll data for payroll processing
- Coordinate with prospective employees and schedule interviews
- Promote open jobs on social media platforms
- Create reports on HR processes when needed
- Assist the HR team in organizing any PR or special events
- Able to support recruitment activities, including coordinating the jobs mailbox, saving and filing all candidate applications in relevant files and on trackers
- Assist with credentialing professionals and contract workers
- All other duties as assigned
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with HR software or databases is a plus
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn about human resources practices

- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of the position can be fully met.
- Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
- Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
- Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Works in office area(s) as well as throughout the Thornapple Manor campus.
- Moves intermittently during working hours.
- Is subject to frequent interruptions.
- Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
- Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
- Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the work day, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
- Is subject to exposure to infectious waster, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B virus.
