Job Title: Events Manager
Job Overview: The Events Manager plans, organizes and executes onsite and offsite events sponsored and/or hosted by Thousand Islands Winery. Working in conjunction with the Tasting Room Manager, the ideal candidate will execute events to the highest standards and increase the winery’s presence in the local and regional markets. Customer focus and attention to detail is essential.
Part-time: (24-32 hours/week average).
Wage commensurate with experience.
Essential Functions of this Job:
1. Provide leadership and vision to the Event Staff.
2. Represent Thousand Islands Winery at onsite and offsite events with professionalism and style
3. Develop creative ideas for new onsite events that will increase awareness of the TIW experience
4. Review requests for participation in outside tasting events, file necessary participation forms, obtain required insurance certificates and permits, and any other pertinent information to meet sponsor requirements
5. Ensure all vendors have proper permits, licensing, and insurance
6. Work with Marketing Team to promote events through social media, web-based communication, and traditional media
7. Update Tasting Room Manager and winery staff on the status of upcoming events, assigning duties based on event needs and organizing/scheduling event staff
8. Overall events planning and “Hands On” execution
9. Prepare all winery facilities and materials necessary to successfully manage events
10. Responsible for managing event staffing and assisting with events from set up to break down
11. Maintain inventories of Event Section beverages, food, merchandise,
12. Maintain serviceable: Signage, Tents, and Equipment
13. Ensure the winery and outside events are properly cleaned and organized before, during, and after each event
14. Take inventory before and after events and review sales reports from Square for all events
15. Create overall event timelines to organize multiple event details and forward onto management as needed
16. Maintain an accurate and comprehensive database on all events, review each event for success and make recommendations for future improvements
17. Work with the Tasting Room conducting tastings, answering phones, and recording reservations as needed
Qualifications:
· Prior experience in event coordination in the hospitality field, ideally wine industry related
· Possess excellent overall communication, organizational, and project management skills
· Proven ability to work with multiple personality types while demonstrating excellent customer service skills
· Demonstrate high levels of leadership, initiative, creativity and flexibility
· Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word), Square POS software
· Flexible work schedule will be required to execute the job function. Weekends, evenings and some travel will be required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
