Three Bears Alaska is looking to hire licensed Pharmacists. As a Pharmacist, you will dispense prescription medications and oversee Pharmacy Technicians. Successful candidates will fill and dispense prescriptions, order and stock drugs, and assist customers with over-the-counter merchandise. Candidates will also update patient records and inventory, process invoices and make accounting entries.
Essential Functions and Tasks :
- Dispense prescription medications, measures and counts medication into appropriate container.
- Labels prescriptions and applies appropriate warning stickers.
- Verifies prescriptions and refills with physicians by phone.
- Select substitutions when necessary.
- Obtains patient medical history and maintains confidential computer record.
- Checks prescriptions and over the counter medications for drug interactions.
- Counsels’ customers on proper medication usage.
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service.
- Answers customer questions about over-the-counter medication and product location.
- Preserves customer confidentiality.
- Assists in perpetual inventory of Schedule II controlled substances.
- Meets proper department production, record keeping, and product storage procedures and standards.
- Follows safety and security procedures.
- Assists with counter duties as necessary.

Working Environment
Work is performed in a store setting with ability to speak and receive phone communications often. Work requires computer usage with strength, dexterity, coordination and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment. Continuously standing, walking, reaching at / below shoulders, frequently lift / carry up to 10 pounds below waist, up to 50 pounds at waist / chest and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
